As part of a rural community, we are accustomed to the cycle of a planting season, new growth, and harvesting a bountiful crop. Whether as individuals, companies, or communities, we sometimes ask ourselves how to improve, expand, or innovate during these seasons.

At Ó²ººÊÓƵAPP, we asked ourselves these questions regarding our broadband network in Seneca: How do we best prepare for the future demand for bandwidth? Do we upgrade our existing network or go all-in to deliver a superior broadband experience by expanding our fiber optic network? We chose to go all in. We chose Fiber-to-the-Home in Seneca.

After all, Seneca is one of our hometowns. We live and work in our service communities. We have deep roots in our communities with incredible partnerships with our schools, hospitals, libraries, churches, foundations, nonprofit organizations, and local governments. Our goal is to enhance lives by delivering broadband service that will help our communities attract more talent, families, and opportunities through working from home. Expanding our fiber optic broadband network from the business district to customer homes can help us continue developing, improving, growing, and innovating.

In Seneca, construction will begin this week to expand Ó²ººÊÓƵAPP’s fiber-optic network to all customer homes. In-home installations are expected to be as early as April 2025. Watch for upcoming emails regarding our partnering contractors and the construction process, and please feel free to call anytime with questions.

The construction project is a $5.2 million investment in nearly 65 miles of fiber optic cabling to serve over 2,100 people in Seneca. However, the wait and investment will be worth it. You will receive much faster symmetrical speed plans at or near the current pricing, increasing your service value and home value through fiber internet. More good news! The existing fiber network for businesses will upgrade from a one-gigabit to a multi-gigabit capability.

It may be summer, but it’s planting season for homegrown fiber internet. So, let’s grow a superior broadband network for your amazing future. With internet speed capability of 2,000 Mbps (2 Gbps) and greater bandwidth capacity, you can do more, create more, work smarter, and play harder. The sky is your limit, not our broadband network.

Sincerely,

Jason Smith
